Just a day after Rahul Gandhi’s viral bike riding post from Ladakh’s Leh to Pangong Tso briefed about his father’s 79th birth anniversary, the senior Congress leader paid tribute to former prime minister Rajiv Gandhi from the banks of the lake this morning (August 20).
Sharing a video message on X (formerly known as Twitter), Rahul Gandhi penned a heartfelt note for his father, saying “Papa, the dreams you had for India are shown from these priceless memories.” “Your mark is my way – understanding the struggles and dreams of every Indian, listening to the voice of Mother India,” he added.
Vikar Rasool Wani, president of the Jammu and Kashmir Pradesh Congress Committee told news agency ANI, “Today, Rahul Gandhi will pay tribute to Rajiv Gandhi here. Rajiv Gandhi sacrificed his life for the country. We have gathered here to remember him.”
Apart from him, several other Congress leaders have paid tribute to the veteran and most beloved prime minister of India across the nation.
In the national capital, Congress Parliamentary Party Chairperson Sonia Gandhi paid floral tribute to the former Prime Minister and her late husband Rajiv Gandhi on his birth anniversary at Veer Bhumi.
Moreover, the party’s National President Mallikarjun Kharge, with Congress general secretary Priyanka Gandhi Vadra and Robert Vadra were seen paying tribute to the leader at Veer Bhumi in Delhi.
