New Delhi: Kumari Selja, the All India Congress Committee General Secretary and a former Union Minister, stated that the final decision on ticket distribution rests solely with the party's high command. Addressing the issue of the Chief Minister's appointment, Selja emphasized that the high command has the authority to select a Chief Minister from any of the state's diverse communities, including the Dalit community.

Reflecting on the ten-year rule of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in Haryana, Selja criticized it as a period of misgovernance that left the state lagging. She asserted that the Congress party is committed to advancing Haryana’s progress by focusing on employment, education, and overall development for the youth.

BJP's situation to this facade

Selja highlighted the internal conflicts within the BJP regarding ticket distribution, noting the discord between the Chief Minister and the state BJP President. "The BJP’s façade crumbled in the Lok Sabha elections, where their ambitious slogans failed to resonate with the public. The people of Haryana have witnessed a decade of false promises and hollow declarations," she remarked. She reiterated that the decision on the Chief Ministerial candidate would be made by the Congress high command.

"The high command will choose the Chief Minister from any of the 36 communities, and that individual could very well be from the Dalit community," she affirmed. Selja expressed confidence in Congress's readiness for the upcoming elections, underscoring the party's unity and the public’s desire for change. "The people have endured the BJP's governance for ten years without tangible results. Now, they are eager to see Congress in power. The decision to contest the assembly elections rests with the high command, and I will abide by their decision," she concluded.
