Congress leader, former Andhra Pradesh minister Dharmapuri Srinivas passes away at 76

Srinivas served as a Minister, Member of Parliament, and President of the Pradesh Congress Committee in the former state of Andhra Pradesh.

Dharmapuri Srinivas, former president of the Andhra Pradesh Congress Committee (PCC) and a notable minister, passed away at the age of 76. According to his family, Srinivas had been battling an illness for some time and succumbed to a heart attack at 3 am on Saturday.

Srinivas had a distinguished career in politics, having served as a Minister, Member of Parliament, and PCC president in the erstwhile state of Andhra Pradesh. He leaves behind two sons: Dharmapuri Arvind, currently the MP of Nizamabad, and his elder son Sanjay, who has previously served as the Mayor of Nizamabad.

Condolences from Political Leaders

In the wake of his passing, Telangana Minister for Transport and BC Welfare, Ponnam Prabhakar, expressed his condolences. Prabhakar recalled Srinivas' extensive service as a Minister and PCC Chief and their long association within the party. "I offer my heartfelt condolences to the family members and pray that God gives them the strength to endure this difficult time," Prabhakar stated.

Similarly, Telangana Minister for Panchayat Raj and Rural Development, Dansari Anasuya Seethakka, also expressed her sorrow. She conveyed her deepest sympathies and prayed for Srinivas' soul to rest in peace.
