PM Modi on Congress Muslim vote bank: Prime Minister Narendra Modi, a day after Congress' loss in the Haryana elections, accused the party of fearmongering among Muslims to turn them into a vote bank. Speaking on Wednesday, Modi labelled Congress as an “irresponsible” entity that seeks to divide communities, specifically targeting Hindus, in an effort to spread hatred and manipulate electoral outcomes.

Congress blamed for spreading hatred and division

During a virtual address, Modi didn't mince words in his criticism of Congress, calling it a "factory for spreading hatred." He further added that the party, over the years, has focused more on fostering communal divides rather than contributing to India’s development. "The Congress is not concerned about development or preserving India’s legacy, whereas we focus on both," Modi asserted.

BJP's victory in Haryana a signal for Maharashtra

Modi linked the BJP's recent victory in the Haryana Assembly elections to the growing support for the party across the country. "This win reflects the mood of the nation," he said, adding that the ruling Mahayuti coalition in Maharashtra is aiming for an even larger victory in the upcoming elections for the state’s 288-member Assembly, expected to be held next month.

He also emphasized that the opposition alliance Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) is attempting to weaken Maharashtra for political gain, while the BJP-led Mahayuti is focused on strengthening the state through developmental initiatives.

Development Projects worth Rs 7,600 crore inaugurated

Modi virtually inaugurated several development projects in Maharashtra worth over ₹7,600 crore, highlighting his government’s commitment to rapid infrastructure growth. He noted that never before had Maharashtra witnessed such fast-paced development of projects under the previous Congress-led regime. According to Modi, the only thing that grew at such a pace during Congress’ rule was corruption.

Focus on 'Viksit Bharat'

In his speech, Modi reiterated the BJP's vision for a 'Viksit Bharat' (Developed India), which prioritizes the development of the poor, farmers, youth, and women. He expressed confidence that the BJP's development-focused agenda would continue to resonate with voters, contrasting it with what he described as Congress’ divisive tactics.
