New Delhi: A horrific incident has been reported from Jammu and Kashmir, where 10 Amarnath Yatra pilgrims were injured when they had to jump off a bus due to brake failure.

The video surfaced on social media shows passengers jumping off the bus to save their lives.

However, a quick response by the security forces prevented the bus from plunging into the gorge. According to the sources, the bus was carrying pilgrims lost control on the National Highway 44 in Ramban on Tuesday. The bus was moving from Amarnath to Hoshiarpur in Punjab. Reported, 40 passengers were travelling returning back to Punjab.

People said that the brakes of the bus failed, thus the driver was unable to stop it when they arrived at Nachlana, which is close to Banihal. Six men, three women, and one child were among the ten injured parties in the incident.

The incident underscores the importance of vehicle maintenance and safety measures, especially during such significant and challenging journeys. Emergency services were likely mobilised to provide immediate assistance to the injured pilgrims. The authorities will probably conduct an investigation to prevent similar incidents in the future.
