On Monday, the Hemant Soren government secured a vote of confidence in the Jharkhand Assembly, while the Opposition staged a walkout in protest.
In the 81-member Assembly, 45 MLAs voted in favour of the confidence motion. However, independent legislator Saryu Roy abstained from the voting process.
Hemant Soren was sworn in as Chief Minister on Thursday after the High Court granted him bail in a money laundering case linked to an alleged land scam. Soren's return marks the end of Champai Soren’s brief tenure as CM, which began following Hemant’s arrest by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) on January 31.
Following his release on bail, Hemant Soren received robust support from the ruling coalition and Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM) legislators, facilitating his reinstatement as the state's Chief Minister.
