We are not people who make reels, we do hard work: Ashwini Viashnaw (ANI)
New Delhi: Ashwini Vaishnaw, the union minister of railways, lost his temper with opposition lawmakers on Thursday during his speech to the Lok Sabha. "Chup baitho, or be silent. We are hardworking individuals, not just reel makers," he remarked.
Vaishnaw's response came after he was questioned by the opposition INDIA group on whether he was a "reel minister" or a train minister for riding a motorcycle to the accident scene. He claimed that the opposition persistently tries to politicize the matter and that safety precautions were disregarded during the Congress government.

"Those who are yelling here ought to be questioned about why, in their 58 years in office, they did not implement Automatic Train Protection (ATP) for even one kilometer. They are so bold as to ask questions now," the minister of railways remarked.
The Union railway minister made a subdued jab at Rahul Gandhi, the leader of the Congress, by claiming that those who spent their time making reels with locomotive drivers accomplished nothing. He was alluding to the July 7 visit by Rahul Gandhi to loco pilots in Delhi. Hanuman Beniwal, a member of the Rashtriya Loktantrik Party (RLP), referred to him as a "derail minister" and a "reel minister" during his address. But Vaishnaw turned and gave Beniwal a stern lecture, telling him to "please sit down (chup baitho)." Then he turned to the MPs in the opposition and said, "Chup baitho (be quiet)." We are hardworking individuals, not just reel makers," he remarked.
Taking a swipe at the outgoing Congress-led UPA government, Vaishnaw stated that during the BJP's ten years in office under Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the average yearly number of accidents was 171, a fall of 68%. Additionally, he claimed that the Congress party has been spreading false information and attempting to instill dread in the minds of the two crore people who commute by train every day with the aid of its army of social media trolls.
