He also said that India is working to restore the situation before 2020. Gradually, trust, energy and enthusiasm will return, but it will take some time.
China's official newspaper Global Times wrote on PM Modi's comment that, "This statement clearly reflects the Indian government's point of view and it will help strengthen the relations between the countries and advancing bilateral relations." The newspaper wrote that the relations between the two countries have improved after PM Modi and Xi Jinping met at the BRICS summit in Kazan, Russia last year.
India-China relations have seen ups and downs for a long time. However, this statement of PM Modi is being seen as a new positive beginning between the two countries. Experts believe that the border dispute can be resolved through diplomatic talks and multilateral cooperation.
