Army chief General Upendra Dwivedi honors veterans during operational preparedness review

Chief of Army Staff General Upendra Dwivedi: Chief of Army Staff General Upendra Dwivedi reviewed the operational preparedness of the Sudarshan Chakra Corps in detail.

General Upendra Dwivedi's visit to the Sudarshan Chakra Corps reflects the strength and preparedness of the Indian Army. General Dwivedi was told that the Sudarshan Chakra Corps has been constantly and effectively improving its operational preparedness thus enhancing the overall efficiency of the Army. He praised the troops for their industriousness and commitment to the mission. He also complimented their innovations and training methods that place the Indian Army ahead of the game on the battlefield.

Honoring veterans

During the visit of the Sudarshan Chakra Corps, General Dwivedi awarded the "Veteran Achiever Award" to five senior ex-servicemen. The award was conferred on them for their lifelong service to the ex-servicemen and for contributing to society. Awarded veterans are:

  • Brigadier Ramnarayan Vinayak (Retd.): Brigadier Ramnarayan Vinayak has worked extensively for retired soldiers' well-being. He established a security agency, employing over 300 ex-servicemen. Besides, he provided health facilities to courageous women and endeavored to enhance family pensions.
  • Colonel Vaibhav Prakash Tripathi (Retd): Vice-president of the Ex-Servicemen League of Madhya Pradesh, Colonel Tripathi established an institute to educate and train tribal youth for recruitment in the armed forces.
  • Colonel KP Singh (Retd.): Colonel Singh offered legal assistance to ex-servicemen and widows and ensured the process of life certificates was made easier. In addition to this, he helped numerous local charities.
  • Naik Anil Kumar Verma (Retd): Naik Verma transformed his ancestral home into a girls' hostel and established a school for tribal kids, which is providing outstanding board results.
  • Lance Dafedar Pradeep Kalaskar (Retd.): Pradeep Kalaskar was actively involved in solving pension and financial issues of veteran ex-servicemen. He rescued five individuals from the fire without worrying about his life and was celebrated as a 'tree friend', as he planted over 1,000 saplings.

Inspiration and respect of soldiers for the Indian Army

Such accolades further reaffirm the honour for the veterans of the Indian Army, which have been inspirational through their arduous endeavours and commitment to society. General Upendra Dwivedi ended his tour at "Yodhasthala", where he discussed the bravado and tale of the Indian Army. Yodhasthal has been conceptualized as an experiential and information-based experience to familiarize the general public about the unshakeable courage and sacrifice of the Indian Army.

Operational readiness of Sudarshan Chakra Corps

In the visit, General Dwivedi also reiterated that the brave Indian Army soldiers imprint their impression not just in combat but even on society.
