With the assistance of the SDRF and National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) teams, a rescue operation was launched in a desperate bid to retrieve the bodies of the unfortunate victims from the watery grave.A grim discoveryTragically, the rescue efforts concluded with the retrieval of the lifeless bodies of the three brave souls from the depths of the well. Preliminary investigations indicate that the cause of death was suffocation induced by the noxious gases present within the confined space.Expressing profound sadness over the incident, SP Cachar Numal Mahatta termed the mishap as deeply unfortunate. The bodies of the deceased have been transferred to Silchar Medical College for post-mortem examinations as the tight-knit community grapples with the profound loss of three cherished members.
