Chhattisgarh encounter: In a recent development, seven Maoists were fatally shot while three Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP) personnel sustained injuries during a confrontation in Chhattisgarh's Narayanpur district. The skirmish unfolded around 3 PM in the dense forests near Gobel and Thulthuli villages, within the Orchha area on Friday.

The clash erupted during an anti-Maoist operation, wherein a joint team of security forces, including personnel from the District Reserve Guard and ITBP, embarked on a mission to curb Maoist activities in the region. Units from Narayanpur, Kondagaon, Dantewada, and Bastar districts collaborated in the operation.

After the intense exchange of fire, the bodies of seven Maoists, clad in uniform, were discovered at the scene alongside several weapons. Unfortunately, three ITBP jawans sustained injuries during the encounter. A thorough search operation has been initiated in the area to ensure the situation is fully under control.
