New Delhi: Torrential rains continue to disrupt normal life in many districts of Chhattisgarh, leading to severe waterlogging and dangerous road conditions. In a recent incident from Raigarh district, a bike rider fell into a water-filled drain under a railway bridge, a moment captured on video and now going viral across social media platforms. Fortunately, the rider escaped with only minor injuries, but the shocking footage has left viewers concerned about the dangerous conditions in the area.
The incident occurred after heavy rainfall caused the drains in Raigarh to overflow, flooding nearby roads with dirty water. The viral 15-second video shows a biker navigating the flooded road under the railway bridge, unaware of a hidden pothole submerged beneath the murky water. As the rider approached, the bike plunged into the unseen drain, taking both the rider and his vehicle down.
Passersby quickly rushed to his aid, helping him and his bike out of the drain. Fortunately, the rider was able to walk away from the accident with the help of locals. However, by that time, someone had already recorded the incident, and the video soon made its way to social media, where it garnered widespread attention.

The mishap reportedly occurred on Sunday evening in Raigarh. The young man was riding under the railway bridge when the accident took place. The combination of torrential rain and overflowing drains had obscured the road conditions, making it impossible for the rider to notice the hidden danger. Reports suggest that while the man initially seemed unharmed, he later sustained head injuries and was admitted to a hospital by local residents. However, the exact hospital he was taken to remains unconfirmed.
Chhattisgarh, particularly Raigarh and Raipur, has been experiencing heavy rainfall in recent days, causing widespread waterlogging and bringing parts of the state to a standstill. According to the Meteorological Department, monsoon activity is expected to persist for the next three days, with more rain forecasted across several districts.
While the rain has brought much-needed relief from the heat and humidity, it has also led to significant flooding in low-lying areas, posing a challenge for commuters. Waterlogged roads have become a common sight, and residents are grappling with the inconvenience and risks posed by submerged potholes and damaged roads.
