Accused found guilty in just 48 days

Following the charge sheet, the police requested the District Judge for a speedy trial. The judge agreed and the trial commenced on August 13. On the 48th day, the accused was found guilty, with sentencing scheduled for September 5. SP Kumar noted that the trial proceedings took 22 days from the start of hearings to the announcement of the verdict.
