New Delhi: Amid mounting speculation over Champai Soren's political future following his arrival in the national capital, Union Minister Jitan Ram Manjhi on Sunday (August 18) openly welcomed him into the "NDA family." Manjhi, while referring to Soren as a "tiger," emphasized that Soren had always been, and would continue to be, a force to reckon with. This statement came shortly after the former Jharkhand Chief Minister and Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM) leader shared a heartfelt post on his X account, indicating his search for a new direction in politics.

Soren's visit to Delhi fueled rumors that he might be on the verge of joining the BJP. These speculations gained further traction when he removed JMM from his X profile.

"Champai Da, you were a tiger, you are a tiger, and you will remain a tiger. Welcome to the NDA family," Manjhi expressed on X.

What did Champai Soren say?

In an emotional post written in Hindi, Soren recounted the humiliation he faced as the state's chief minister. He revealed that on July 3, the party leadership abruptly canceled all his scheduled government programs without informing him.

"The day after Hul Diwas, I learned that all my programs for the next two days had been postponed by the party leadership. These included a public event in Dumka and another to distribute appointment letters to PGT teachers. When I inquired, I was informed that a legislative party meeting had been called for July 3, and I was barred from attending any programs as CM until then," Soren shared.

Blow to self-respect

"For the first time in my spotless political journey of the last four decades, I was broken from within. I had no desire for power, but where could I express the pain inflicted by my own people?" he continued.

Soren also described the deep emotional impact of being asked to resign following Hemant Soren’s release on bail. He stressed that the demand to step down struck a severe blow to his self-respect.

Forced to seek an alternate path: Champai Soren

In his post, Soren acknowledged that after enduring days of insult and contempt, he was compelled to explore alternative political paths. He disclosed that he is currently considering three options: retiring from politics, forming a new organization, or continuing his journey with a new political ally.

Amid these developments, sources suggest that Champai Soren, along with several other JMM MLAs, is likely to join the BJP ahead of the upcoming Assembly elections. Although Soren himself denied any immediate plans to switch parties, stating he was in Delhi for personal reasons, the political buzz continues to grow.
