UP News: A tragic incident unfolded in Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh, where a young man allegedly murdered his aunt and her six-year-old daughter in their home. The accused, identified as Vikas, had been romantically involved with his aunt, Geeta, but she sought to end the relationship. This led to a violent confrontation that resulted in both their deaths.

The Crime Scene

According to police reports, the horrific events transpired late Thursday into Friday night in the Ishapur village of Malihabad. Geeta and her daughter were found with their throats slit. Vikas, who is also from Ishapur and is Geeta's nephew, confessed during police questioning that their illicit relationship had begun during the lockdown. He had showered Geeta with gifts, money, and jewelry, but she had ceased communication with him for the past 15 days.

Details of the Attack

On the night of the attack, Vikas climbed an electric pole behind Geeta's house to gain entry. When Geeta heard noises and came out to confront him, he attempted to apologize and pleaded with her. However, when she refused to engage with him, he struck her with a stick. As she fell to the ground, he grabbed a kitchen knife and slit her throat. Tragically, Geeta's daughter arrived on the scene shortly after and became a victim as well.

Aftermath and Investigation

Following the brutal act, Vikas fled the scene. The police were alerted when Geeta's father, Siddhnath, became concerned after his grandson Devansh called his mother but received no answer. Upon breaking down the door with villagers' help, they discovered the bodies inside. Authorities have since arrested Vikas and are investigating potential accomplices who may have assisted him in this heinous crime.

Geeta's husband, Prakash Kannaujia, was reportedly working in Mumbai at the time of the incident and had left for work just two weeks prior. Geeta and her daughter had been alone at home since his departure, while Devansh stayed with his maternal grandparents. This shocking case has left the local community in disbelief as they grapple with the senseless loss of life
