The Vishwakarma scheme that was launched on PM Modi Modi’s 73rd birthday has received more than 1.40 lakh applicants within 10 days of its launch, said Union Minister Narayan Rane on Wednesday.

Minister Narayan Rane who is the Minister for, Small, and Medium Enterprises announced this feat through a post shared on his X(Twitter) handle. He wrote that the PM Vishwakarma Yojana is a result of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision and receiving of such high numbers of applications within ten days of the launch is a testament to its success.

The post shared by Rane on X(Twitter) read “PM Vishwakarma Yojana – 10 days – 1.40 lakh+ applications It is a matter of joy to receive more than 1.40 lakh applications within 10 days of the launch of PM Vishwakarma Scheme for Vishwakarma brothers and sisters.”

His post also mentioned that the PM Vishwakarma Scheme will set a milestone in the comprehensive development of the members of our society who are socially and economically underprivileged. The Vishwakarma brothers and sisters will restore their lost identity which has been long awaited, he added.

How will Vishwakarma Scheme benefit artisans?

According to the Union Minister, the main purpose of this scheme is to enhance India’s traditional art and craft industry by improving the production capacity of the artisans and craftspersons and taking their products to domestic and global markets. Under the scheme, 18 types of artisans and craftsmen will be benefited.

This scheme also gives the benefit of a collateral-free loan of up to 3 lakh for the beneficiaries and a daily stipend of Rs 500 during the skill training. Apart from this, an assassinate of ₹ 15,000 will also be provided to purchase tool kits.
