New Delhi: In an exciting development, India is set to establish the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) office in Dubai. The Union Minister for Education and Skill Development and Entrepreneurship, Dharmendra Pradhan, revealed this groundbreaking initiative during his visit to the United Arab Emirates (UAE).

High-level meetings in Abu Dhabi

Union Minister Dharmendra Pradhan held a crucial meeting in Abu Dhabi with Sara Musallam, UAE's Minister of State (MoS) for Early Education and Chairperson of the Abu Dhabi Department of Education and Knowledge (ADEK). The discussions revolved around several key areas of collaboration between the two nations in the field of education.

Pradhan underscored the importance of UAE's support for Indian schools, emphasizing its pivotal role in keeping Indian expatriate children in the Emirates connected to Indian curricula and cultural roots. Furthermore, they deliberated on plans to establish a CBSE office in Dubai.

IIT Delhi-Abu Dhabi Campus: A Symbol of friendship?

Pradhan expressed his appreciation for the ongoing partnership and the upcoming IIT Delhi campus in Abu Dhabi, highlighting its significance as a testament to the strong friendship between India and the UAE. The IIT Delhi extension is poised to become a beacon of academic excellence.

A Productive visit to Abu Dhabi

Union Minister Dharmendra Pradhan's visit to Abu Dhabi was highly productive, marked by meaningful discussions and agreements to bolster educational collaboration. In a social media post, he wrote, "Productive conversations on further expanding our cooperation in education and establishing education as one of the strongest pillars of our bilateral ties."

His meetings with Sara Musallam and UAE's Minister of Education, Ahmad Al Falasi, were instrumental in advancing educational cooperation between the two countries.

Crucial MoU signed

During the visit, the ministers signed a significant Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) designed to strengthen existing educational cooperation. This MoU encompasses a wide array of initiatives, such as facilitating student and faculty mobility, conducting joint research programs, designing courses, and organizing conferences, among other activities. It also promotes the exchange of information regarding educational regulations, legal structures, and best practices, aiming to establish a mutual recognition of qualifications.

Fostering a knowledge bridge

Union Minister Pradhan emphasized the importance of building a "knowledge bridge" between the UAE, a global economic hotspot, and India, a global talent hotspot. This bridge will further strengthen the deep-rooted civilizational connection between the two nations.

The ministers reviewed their past collaborations in education and skill development, expressing satisfaction with the progress in mutual recognition of academic and skill qualifications and the recognition of Indian institutes in the UAE. They pledged to intensify their efforts for smoother student and workforce mobility.

Connecting with the future

Pradhan also took the opportunity to engage with students and faculty at the Abu Dhabi Indian School, reinforcing the bonds of collaboration and knowledge-sharing between India and the UAE.
