Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has taken over the probe in the case of sexual assault on two Manipur women and a leaked video which went viral earlier this month. According to the officials, FIR has been lodged in connection with the case.
The video was shot purposely on May 4, showing two women being paraded naked, which went viral in July. The video had created uproar in the country.

The case was handed over to CBI by the Central government yesterday. The CBI has registered an FIR under Sections 153A, 398, 427, 436, 448, 302, 354, 364, 326, 376, 34 IPC and 25 (1-C) A Act.
As many as seven accused have been arrested in the case and the government has already said that they have a ‘zero-tolerance’ policy against the crime and have requested the Supreme Court to direct the trial to be conducted outside Manipur.
