CBI locates accused Rajeev Mehta, a longtime fugitive, after 25-year search

Accused Rajeev Mehta, who was on the run for 26 years, has been brought back from America. CBI has found Rajeev Mehta, who was absconding for 26 years. If we talk about where they were hidden until now, then information has come to light that shows that Rajiv Mehta was hiding in America's capital, Washington, DC, for many years. 

Where was Rajeev Mehta hiding?

The news is coming, quoting sources, that accused Rajeev Mehta was declared a complete criminal and fugitive, but after 25 years, i.e., on March 6th, the CBI found him, and now he is being brought back to India. Talking about the case and the accusation against Rajiv Mehta, Mehta defrauded banks of several lakhs of rupees and then absconded from India. In the year 1999, Rajiv Mehta was declared a fugitive by the Indian court. The arrested accused is Rajeev Mehta, whom the CBI team succeeded in bringing back to India from the USA with the help of the foreign organization Interpol.

The CBI had taken action against the accused, Rajiv Mehta, by declaring him a fugitive by the Special Court on June 16, 2000 and then issued a Red Corner Notice against him. Since then, a search has been underway to bring him back to India. But during the last few years, the investigating agency CBI has been working rapidly on this. This fugitive accused has been brought back to India after all the legal issues have been resolved.

The Arrest! 

All Interpol member nations received the Red Notice, which asked for Mehta's location and arrest. The CBI is looking for him in relation to a 1998 criminal case including theft, criminal conspiracy, and deception. In this case, fake bank accounts were opened at the Central Bank of India, located in Greater Kailash Part-II, New Delhi, with the intention of intercepting and cashing drafts belonging to different parties while they were in route.

The court designated Mehta as a proclaimed criminal in 1999. According to a CBI spokesperson, the CBI coordinates with all law enforcement agencies in India for assistance via Interpol channels as the National Central Bureau for Interpol in India.
