New Delhi: In a shocking incident on Wednesday night, Sheikh Rasheed, a member of the YSR Congress Party's youth wing, was brutally hacked to death in Andhra Pradesh's Palnadu district. The assailant, identified as Sheikh Jilani, attacked Rasheed with a machete in the midst of moving traffic at around 8:30 pm. Eyewitnesses captured the horrific assault on camera, revealing Jilani severing both of Rasheed's hands before fatally striking his neck.

Murder stemmed from personal rivalry 

District police chief Kanchi Srinivas Rao stated that initial investigations indicate the murder stemmed from a personal rivalry, dismissing any speculation of political motives. The incident has prompted authorities to impose stringent prohibitory orders in Vinukonda town, where the murder occurred, to prevent any potential unrest.

"We are investigating the case thoroughly to apprehend the culprit and ensure justice is served," assured Mr. Rao, emphasizing that law enforcement remains vigilant against any attempts to disrupt public order.

TMC workers strip BJP woman leader naked, attack in West Bengal

Similar incident of violence against a BJP woman worker surfaced in Jagatdal, North 24 Parganas district of West Bengal on Wednesday. The woman was allegedly stripped and attacked with a sharp weapon, resulting in severe head injuries. She is currently hospitalized. The BJP woman leader recounted that she was attacked by Trinamool Congress workers while fetching water. She accused TMC of causing disturbances in the area and intimidating BJP workers following the Lok Sabha election results announced on June 4.
