CAT Exam 2023: The Common Admission Test (CAT) 2023, conducted by the Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Lucknow, is set to take place on November 26, 2023, across more than 400 examination centres in 155 cities.

As candidates gear up for this crucial MBA entrance exam, it's essential to familiarise themselves with the guidelines set by IIM to ensure a seamless testing experience.

Three Slots for CAT Exam 2023

CAT exam 2023 will be held in three distinct slots to accommodate the large number of candidates. The first slot is scheduled from 8:30 am to 10:30 am, followed by the second slot from 2:30 pm to 4:30 pm, and the third slot from 4:30 pm to 6:30 pm. With over 3 lakh candidates expected to appear, the staggered slots aim to facilitate a smooth and organized examination process.

Exam Guidelines

Candidates are advised to adhere to the following guidelines on the day of the CAT exam:

  1. Pen and Scribble Pad: Each candidate will be provided with a pen and a scribble pad for rough work during the exam. After completing the examination, both the pen and the scribble pad must be submitted along with the CAT admit card.

  2. Prohibited Items: Strict measures are in place regarding prohibited items. Candidates are not allowed to carry phones, watches, calculators, cameras, or Bluetooth devices into the examination hall.

  3. Photo ID Proof: Alongside the CAT admit card, candidates must carry an original photo ID proof for verification. Acceptable IDs include Aadhaar Card, Electoral ID, Driving License, PAN Card, Passport, or any government-issued document.

CAT Exam Dress Code

Candidates are required to adhere to a specific dress code during the CAT exam:

  1. Pullovers, Sweaters, and Cardigans: Candidates are allowed to wear pullovers, sweaters, and cardigans without pockets.

  2. No Caps, Jackets, or Closed-Toed Shoes: The dress code prohibits the wearing of caps, jackets, or closed-toed shoes during the examination.
