Captain Geetika Koul has created the history by becoming the first woman to be posted in Siachen as women medical officer. The milestone for Captain Koul has come after she successfully completed rigorous induction training at the reputed Siachen Battle School. 

The induction training is considered among one of the formidable tests of physical and mental endurance. This training also covers various aspects such as high-altitude acclimatisation, survival techniques, and specialised medical procedures which are critical for operating in the harsh conditions.

The announcement for the posting was shared by Fire and Fury Corps of Indian Army through their official X handle. Sharing the images, it was captioned, "Captain Geetika Koul from the Snow Leopard Brigade becomes the first Woman Medical officer of the #IndianArmy to be deployed at the world's highest battlefield, #Siachen after successfully completing the induction training at Siachen Battle School."
