Calcutta High Court order: Deployment of central forces in Murshidabad

Three people died and 138 people have been arrested in this violence. The Calcutta High Court has ordered the deployment of Central Security Forces to control the situation.

National News: There have been violent demonstrations against the Waqf (Amendment) Act in Murshidabad district of West Bengal. The protesters set the police vehicles on fire and damaged the railway property. Three people died and 138 people have been arrested in this violence. The Calcutta High Court has ordered the deployment of Central Security Forces to control the situation. Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee has appealed to the people to maintain peace and said that inappropriate behavior should not be done in the name of religion. He also said that strict legal action will be taken against the people involved in the violence.

5 additional BSF companies will control the situation

At the same time, opposition parties have described the Waqf (Amendment) Act as unconstitutional and raised their voice against it. The BJP has supported the bill and described it as a move for transparency and empowerment. The Modi government has deployed 5 additional BSF companies in Murshidabad to control the situation. The Ministry of Home Affairs has directed the state administration to restore peace.

The Calcutta High Court

The Calcutta High Court has ordered the deployment of Central Security Forces and sought a report on the situation. Caviet has also been filed in the Supreme Court, demanding hearing on petitions challenging the validity of the Waqf (Amendment) Act. The situation is still tense, and the administration is monitoring the situation. People are being appealed to maintain peace and restraint.

Oppostion demanded NIA investigation 

After violent protests against the Waqf (Amendment) Act in West Bengal, the demand for NIA investigation in this case has started arising. Leader of the Opposition Suvendu Adhikari has written a letter to Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnav demanding the NIA to investigate the demolition at railway stations in Murshidabad district. He says that this sabotage is a threat to the security and public security of the country.
