Vote counting for the seven assembly election in six states in being counted today, Septermber 8,for the voting that took place on September 5. As the oppositions INDIA bloc tries to take on BJP in the coming Lok Sabha Elections of 2021, this election is seen as a litmus test to determine their hold stand in the upcoming general election.The seven seats that went for the bypoll elections include Bageshwar in Uttarakhand, Ghosi in Uttar Pradesh, Puthuppally in Kerala, Dhupguri in West Bengal, Dumri in Jharkhand, and Boxanagar and Dhanpur in Tripura.BJP held three of the seven seats in this election which are Dhanpur, Bageshwar, and Dhupguri while the seats in UP and Jharkhand were held by Samajwadi Party and Jharkhand Mukti Morcha, respectively. CPIMs Jaick C Thomas is in second place, and the BJP is in third place.Boxnagar, TripuraIn the first round of counting, the BJP is leading in the Boxnagar assembly constituency in Tripura with BJPs Tafajjal Hussain leading with 7706 votes while Mirzan Hussain of CPIM has 375 votes.Dhanpur, TripuraThe Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is leading in the Dhanpur assembly constituency after the first round of postal vote counting. BjPs Bindu Debnath is in the lead with 5341 votes whileCPI-Ms Kaushik Debnath secured second place with 1276 votes.West BengalBharatiya Janata Party (BJP) secured a lead in West Bengals Dhupguri after the first round counting of postal ballots. Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP)s Dara Singh Chauhan is at second spot with 3203 votes.Congress had extended its support to the SP candidate, while the BSP stayed away from the electionJharkhandCountings began in Jharkhands for Dumri assembly with a slight delay. The delay of around 10 minutes happened as official formalities took some time to complete amid heavy rains in the area.National Democratic Alliance (NDA) candidate Yashoda Devi is leading in Jharkhands Dumri assembly constituency after first round of polling. She secured 4124 votes. Jharkhands Mukti Morchas Bebi Devi, who is the joint candidate INDIA bloc, is at second spot with 2859 votes.
