BSF thwarts 100 Pakistani drones: In a resounding success for the Border Security Force (BSF), a total of 100 Pakistani drones attempting to smuggle narcotics, arms, and ammunition into Indian territory have been either shot down or recovered this year, according to recent reports.

Three-Pronged Strategy Unveiled

The BSF revealed a robust 'three-pronged strategy' aimed at curbing the illicit movement of drugs and other narcotic substances across the border. This strategy not only involved the interception of drones but also the successful apprehension of smugglers facilitating the nefarious activities.

Unprecedented Success in 2023

In a series of posts, the BSF Punjab Frontier announced, "Till now, in 2023, BSF Punjab has successfully shot down or recovered 100 Pakistani drones being used by anti-national elements to smuggle narcotics, arms, and ammunition into Indian territory."

This remarkable success underscores the BSF's commitment to maintaining the security and integrity of the border.

Comprehensive Approach to Counter Smuggling

The BSF detailed its comprehensive approach, stating, "BSF has implemented a three-pronged strategy, with the objectives of curtailing the drug supply, fostering awareness against drug abuse, and empowering the youth with skills to channelise their energy, thereby facilitating meaningful employment opportunities."

This holistic approach signifies a multifaceted effort to address the root causes of smuggling activities.

Recent Drone Seizure in Amritsar

On Monday, the BSF thwarted yet another attempt at smuggling through a drone in Amritsar. The force seized 434 grams of heroin wrapped with adhesive tape after launching a search operation following a Pakistani drone violation of Indian airspace.

During the operation, the BSF troops recovered the contraband from Ranian village in Amritsar, responding swiftly to the drone intrusion. The drone dropped the illegal substance before returning to Pakistani airspace.

A Persistent Stand Against Smuggling

The BSF's continuous success in intercepting and countering smuggling attempts via drones reflects its unwavering commitment to border security. As the force remains vigilant, these efforts contribute significantly to maintaining the sovereignty and safety of the Indian border.
