Parliament Security Breach: Three labourers were apprehended by CISF personnel for attempting to enter the high-security Parliament complex using forged Aadhaar cards, according to official sources on Thursday. The Delhi Police have arrested the individuals, identified as Kasim, Monis, and Soyeb, and charged them under various sections of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) related to forgery and cheating.

This incident comes as the Delhi police are all set to file a chargesheet against the accused in an earlier incident of security breach at Parliament in a city court today, June 7.

Incident and Arrest

The incident occurred on Tuesday during routine security and identity checks at the flap gate entry of Parliament House. CISF personnel, who recently took over the entire security of the Parliament complex from CRPF and Delhi Police contingents, intercepted and detained the trio after discovering their Aadhaar cards were forged.

Employment and Role in Construction

The three men were employed by Dee Vee Projects Ltd, which was contracted to construct the MPs' lounge inside the Parliament complex. Their attempt to gain access to such a sensitive area using counterfeit identification highlights serious security concerns.

Legal Proceedings

After being handed over to the Delhi Police by the CISF, the trio was booked under IPC sections 465 (forgery), 419 (cheating by personation), 120B (criminal conspiracy), 471 (using a forged document as genuine), and 468 (forgery for the purpose of cheating). An FIR was lodged, initiating the legal process against them.

Previous Security Incidents

This incident follows another security breach on 13 December 2023, when two of six accused individuals jumped into the well of the Parliament, activating colour spray canisters hidden in their shoes. These accused, drawn from diverse social and economic backgrounds, allegedly breached Parliament security to protest against government policies on issues such as unemployment, the farmers’ crisis, and ethnic riots in Manipur. They have been in jail for the past six months, as the police have sought several extensions to file the chargesheet.
