All MLAs of the ruling alliance have rushed to meet the Governor, meanwhile, support letters for the new chief minister will be handed over. A team of ED officials was at the residence of CM Soren for questioning in connection with a money laundering case linked to an alleged land scam.

Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM) MP Mahua Maji confirmed the resignation of Hemant Soren. She said, "The CM is in ED custody. The CM has gone to the Governor with the ED team to submit his resignation. Champai Soren will be the new Chief Minister. We have enough numbers."

Addressing the ongoing politcial turmoil, Congress leader Subodh Kant Sahay says, "Is BJP corruption not corruption? BJP's policy and intention cannot be discussed anymore...The BJP has destroyed the federal structure."

Earlier in the day, a team of ED officials arrived at the residence for questioning in the alleged land scam. Section 144 was imposed within a radius of 100 meters outside Hemant Soren's residence, Raj Bhavan, and the ED office in the state. This was taken as a precautionary measure amid the anticipation of protests by the supporters of Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM) over the action by ED.
