In a tragic incident on Thursday, the body of a woman was discovered inside a water tanker in Pune's Phursungi area. The deceased, identified as 25-year-old Kaushalya Mukesh Chavan, was found when locals were drawing water from the tanker near the Phursungi power station.

Discovery of the Body

As residents began filling water, the flow suddenly stopped. Upon inspection, the tanker driver discovered a piece of sari obstructing the outflow. When the driver opened the lid, he was horrified to find Kaushalya's body inside. Authorities have launched an investigation to determine whether her death was a result of suicide or foul play. According to the police, no visible injury marks were found on her body, and the exact cause of death will be confirmed following a post-mortem examination.

Background and Circumstances

Police inspector Mansingh Patil reported that Kaushalya was last seen near a building where the tanker driver resides, with the tanker parked nearby. It remains unclear if she fell accidentally or intentionally entered the tanker.

Kaushalya was a resident of Dugad Chawl near JSPM College in Handewadi. She lived with her husband, who works as a flooring installer, and their two children. The family had relocated to Pune from Uttar Pradesh just a month ago. She had been reported missing a few days prior to the incident, with a report filed at Kondhwa Police Station.
