The body of former model Divya Pahuja was recovered from a canal in Haryanas Gurugram on Saturday, January 13, police said, days after authorities arrested the prime suspect in her shocking murder. The grim development came even as another accused remains at large.Key murder conspirator Balraj Gill was apprehended last week attempting to flee from Kolkata airport. But Ravi Banga, also implicated in the high-profile killing of Pahuja, is still evading capture according to Gurugram police.“The accused in the murder of model Divya Pahuja, Balraj Gill, was taken into custody from Kolkata airport on Thursday. He had gone missing after abandoning his car near the Patiala bus stand. Ravi Banga, another accused, is still absconding,” stated Varun Dahiya, a senior Gurugram officer.Background on the brutal killing of Divya PahujaDivya Pahuja, an up-and-coming model, was allegedly shot dead in a Gurugram hotel room by owner Abhijeet Singh earlier this month. Singh and two accomplices then stuffed her body into a car and transported it to Patiala for disposal.“The car was captured in a security camera as being parked near the toll plaza. We learnt that the vehicle was being driven towards Patiala,” said Constable Karan Singh of the Crime Branch of Gurugram Police.Authorities had been frantically searching for the automobile believed used to carry and hide Pahujas remains after the grisly murder. Its recovery and Gills arrest represent major breakthroughs, though the disturbing case still lacks complete closure.
