The accused Mihir Shah and his friends drank 12 large pegs, or roughly 4 pegs apiece, prior to the car crash incident, according to excise officials citing the bar bill in one of the most recent developments in the Worli BMW hit-and-run case that claimed the life of a woman riding a two-wheeler. The officials emphasized that they could be inebriated for up to four hours due to the amount of alcohol they drank.

The reports cited that accused Mihir Shah left the bar at around 1:30 am and the incident happened at around 5 am. Meanwhile, the state excise department has suspended the license of the Juhu bar owner who served alcohol to the accused, who was below 25.
The Mumbai Police on Thursday recreated the scene in the presence of the main accused Mihir Shah, the son of Shiv Sena leader Rajesh Shah. The recreation happened in a BMW hit-and-run from CJ House into Worli to Sea Link. Apart from this, the police also confronted the Shah’s driver, Rajshri Bidawat, who confessed to the crime.
According to the media reports, the police claimed that the 24-year-old accused Mihir Shah had confessed that he was driving the car at the time of the crash. The police have booked him culpable homicide not amounting to murder, among several other charges.
