New Delhi: Lok Sabha MP Asaduddin Owaisi said on Thursday that his Delhi residence was vandalized with black ink by 'unknown miscreants'. In a tweet, Owaisi expressed his frustration, stating, "Today some 'unknown miscreants' threw black ink at my house. I have lost count of how many times my Delhi house has been targeted."

Not the first time when Owaisi's house was targeted

Owaisi highlighted his concerns over the security lapses, questioning the Delhi Police's ability to prevent such incidents. He tweeted, "When I asked Delhi Police officials how all this is happening under their nose, they expressed their helplessness."

Calls for accountability from Amit Shah

Tagging Home Minister Amit Shah and Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla in his tweet, Owaisi demanded accountability and assurance of safety for MPs. "All this is happening under your supervision," he wrote, addressing Amit Shah. He urged Om Birla to clarify whether the safety of MPs would be guaranteed.

Recent controversies and attacks

Owaisi dismissed the attackers as "two-penny goons" and challenged them to confront him directly rather than resorting to cowardly acts. "Stop this cowardly act of Savarkar-type and muster courage to face me. Do not run away after throwing ink or pelting stones," he asserted.

This incident follows the controversy surrounding Owaisi's "Jai Palestine" slogan during his oath-taking in Parliament, which drew criticism from various quarters. Owaisi's Delhi residence has been repeatedly targeted. Last August, two glasses on the door of his Ashoka Road residence were found broken. Earlier in February, miscreants had thrown stones, breaking his nameplate. Owaisi tweeted that this was the fourth such attack on his residence since 2014.

Violent incidents in the past

In 2022, Owaisi's convoy was attacked in Uttar Pradesh while he was traveling from Meerut to Delhi. He narrowly escaped as four rounds were fired at his vehicle. Two individuals, Sachin (25) and Shubham (28), were arrested in connection with the incident.
