In a significant development in Haryana's political landscape, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has issued a show-cause notice to senior party leader and Minister Anil Vij. The notice demands a response within three days, following controversial remarks made by Vij against Chief Minister Nayab Saini and State President Mohanlal Badauli.

The Controversial Statements by Anil Vij

The controversy began when Anil Vij called for the resignation of Mohanlal Badauli over a gangrape case registered against him in Himachal Pradesh. Vij went a step further, criticizing Chief Minister Nayab Saini, accusing him of neglecting his duties and spending more time in helicopters rather than focusing on state affairs. These statements prompted Badauli to issue a formal notice to Vij.

BJP's Response: Show Cause Notice Issued

In its notice, the BJP emphasized that Vij’s remarks were in direct violation of the party's internal policies and discipline, particularly at a time when the party is busy with election campaigns in neighboring states. The notice stated that such statements could tarnish the party's image and were entirely unacceptable. Badauli demanded a written explanation from Vij within three days.

Anil Vij's Demand for Resignation

The issue traces back to January 14, when a gangrape case involving Badauli surfaced in Himachal Pradesh. On January 18, Vij demanded Badauli’s resignation, stating that he should step down until the Himachal Police clears his name to maintain the party’s integrity.

On February 2, in Sonipat, Vij reiterated his demand for Badauli’s resignation, arguing that someone facing serious allegations, like IPC Section 376D (gangrape), should not be allowed to hold meetings with women. Vij highlighted the BJP's tradition of senior leaders stepping down when faced with allegations and suggested that Badauli should follow suit.

Anil Vij's Attack on Chief Minister Nayab Saini

Before this, on January 31, Anil Vij also criticized Chief Minister Nayab Saini during a rally in Ambala. He accused Saini of neglecting the public and spending too much time in helicopters. Vij expressed his willingness to do anything, including protests or hunger strikes, to serve the people of Ambala Cantonment who had elected him.
