Congress was wiped out in this election.

10 Municipal Corporation elections of Haryana

Panipat - BJP

Gurugram - BJP

Faridabad - BJP

Manesar - Independent

Ambala - BJP

Yamuna Nagar - BJP

Hisar - BJP

Karnal - BJP

Rohtak - BJP

Sonipat - BJP

Apart from this, counting of votes is also going on in five municipal councils and 23 municipalities. BJP is leading in most of the places.

Let's also tell you that the biggest setback for the Congress came in Rohtak, the stronghold of former Chief Minister Bhupendra Singh Hooda, where BJP candidate Ram Avtar defeated Congress's Surajmal Kiloi. In the 2024 assembly elections, Congress had won 7 out of 8 seats in Rohtak and Jhajjar, but this time it had to face defeat in the civic elections.

BJP's spectacular victory, opposition remained weak

Meanwhile, BJP's Raj Rani in Gurugram, Shailja Sachdeva in Ambala and Rajiv Jain in Sonipat defeated Congress candidates. In Karnal, Renu Bala Gupta defeated Congress' Manoj Wadhwa. In Manesar, the only independent candidate Indrajit Yadav defeated BJP's Sundar Lal.

Hooda claims - Congress will not be affected by civic elections

Let us tell you that despite the defeat in the civic elections, Bhupendra Hooda said, "BJP had dominance in municipal corporations even earlier. We did not lose any seat, so it cannot be considered a setback." However, BJP registered a spectacular victory in many urban areas including Gurugram and proved that despite 10 years of rule, its hold remains strong. The performance of regional parties INLD, AAP and JJP was weak.
