BJP reveals candidates for 24 state assemblies, pits Navya Haridas against Cong' Priyanka Gandhi in Wayanad bypoll

Lok Sabha Elections 2024: The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has unveiled its candidates for the upcoming by-elections, including the prestigious Wayanad Lok Sabha constituency in Kerala. Navya Haridas has been chosen to represent the party in Wayanad, where Congress candidate Priyanka Gandhi Vadra will also be contesting. The bypoll became necessary after Congress leader Rahul Gandhi vacated the seat in June to retain his other constituency, Raebareli in Uttar Pradesh.

Rahul Gandhi, who won the Wayanad seat in the last Lok Sabha elections with a staggering margin of 360,000 votes over CPI’s Annie Raja, decided to vacate the seat this year. Candidates across state assemblies

In addition to Wayanad, the BJP has also released its candidates for by-elections in 24 state assemblies across India, spanning Assam, Bihar, Chhattisgarh, Karnataka, Kerala, Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, and West Bengal. Former MP Sunil Soni has been fielded from Raipur City South in Chhattisgarh, while candidates like Nihar Ranjan Das and Rajendra Gurjar will contest in other key constituencies. These by-elections are crucial as they set the stage for the upcoming national and state elections.
