New Delhi: A disturbing incident has emerged from Uttar Pradesh's Hardoi where BJP workers attempted to block the Lucknow-Paliya Highway (NH 731) on Tuesday night. The protesters were enraged by a purportedly inappropriate post about the Chief Minister on social media, which they claimed was offensive.
The BJP leaders demanded the immediate arrest of the alleged offender. Despite police advice to file a formal complaint at the Kotwali police station, the protestors refused to move from the highway. The police's attempts to resolve the situation peacefully were met with resistance, as the protesters began shouting slogans against the police administration.
Details of the protest
Anil Kumar Pandey, accompanied by BJP leaders and workers, arrived at Shahabad Kotwali. The protesters accused Ajeemushshan of posting derogatory remarks about the Chief Minister on social media, which they claimed had deeply hurt them. They demanded the immediate arrest of the accused.

After considerable tension, Circle Officer (CO) Anuj Mishra intervened. He managed to persuade the BJP city president, Anil Kumar Pandey, to submit a formal complaint at the Kotwali. Consequently, a case was registered against Congress District Vice President Ajeemushshan for making offensive comments about the Chief Minister on social media.
The protesters' attempt to block the National Highway led to significant traffic disruptions. Shahabad’s Inspector Nirbhay Singh tried to calm the BJP leaders and urged them to file their complaint at the Kotwali. However, the BJP leaders and workers, driven by their political fervor, continued their blockade.
As vehicles began to pile up, the police took stricter measures. In response, the BJP leaders began chanting slogans against the police. Eventually, CO Anuj Mishra's intervention led to the lifting of the blockade. Following this, a formal complaint was filed, leading to the registration of a case against Ajeemushshan. CO Anuj Mishra confirmed that the case has been registered and that further legal action is ongoing.
