A US military aircraft carrying 104 illegal Indian immigrants landed in Amritsar on February 5, marking the first such deportation under the Donald Trump administration's crackdown on illegal immigration. A second plane, carrying 119 more deportees, was expected to arrive in Amritsar on February 15.

Some of the deportees have claimed that they were handcuffed and shackled throughout the duration of the flight and were only unshackled upon arrival in Amritsar.
