New Delhi: In a shocking incident, Sanket Bawankule, son of Maharashtra Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) president Chandrashekhar Bawankule, reportedly fled the scene after an Audi registered in his name caused a series of collisions in Nagpur. The incident, which took place around 1 am on Monday, has sparked widespread outrage.Details of the incidentThe crash occurred in the Ramdaspeth area of Nagpur when Sanket, along with five other individuals, was returning from a beer bar in Dharampeth. According to Sitabuldi police, the Audi first struck a car driven by Jitendra Sonkamble, the complainant, and then went on to hit a moped, injuring two riders, before colliding with several other vehicles near Mankapur.The occupants of one of the affected vehicles, a Polo car, chased down the Audi and stopped it near Mankapur bridge, preventing the alleged intoxicated passengers, Arjun Hawre and Ronit Chittamwar, from fleeing. Police investigations are ongoing, with CCTV footage being reviewed to understand the sequence of events.
