BJP first list of candidates for Maharashtra: On Sunday, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) released its first list of candidates for the upcoming Maharashtra Assembly elections. Among the 99 names announced, Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis and state BJP president Chandrashekhar Bawankule are the key contendors as the India's Mahrashtra goes to polls.

Key candidates in focus

Devendra Fadnavis, a prominent leader and Deputy Chief Minister of Maharashtra, has been selected to contest from the Nagpur South West constituency. Fadnavis is known for his strong leadership and political impact. He will be a critical player in the Bharatiya Janata Party's efforts to secure a majority in the Maharashtra.

Chandrashekhar Bawankule, the state BJP chief, will be running from the Kamthi constituency. Bawankule's inclusion in the list highlights his importance within the party and his role in leading the BJP's campaign within the state in the upcoming election.

Election details announced

The Election Commission of India has scheduled the election for the 288-member Maharashtra Assembly to be held in a single phase on November 20. The results will be declared on November 23, following the counting of votes.The BJP's first list is part of a larger strategy as the party gears up for a fierce contest in the state.
