Immediately after removing Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) state president K. Annamalai of the post, the state's prominent regional party AIADMK (AIADMK) has also come out with its return to the National Democratic Alliance (NDA). Union Home Minister Amit Shah stated that the Lok Sabha and Assembly elections in the state later this year would be contested under the leadership of Edappadi K Palaniswami, whereas Prime Minister Narendra Modi will be the face of the alliance nationally.

BJP-AIADMK alliance has not only been political but on faith and ideology

Amit Shah added that ever since Jayalalithaa ji and Atal ji's time from 1998 onwards, we have been fighting elections together. We had also won 30 out of 39 Lok Sabha seats together. He added that the BJP-AIADMK alliance has not only been political but on faith and ideology. Shah also remembered the tie between then chief minister Jayalalithaa and Prime Minister Modi and stated that the two leaders had never disagreed on anything and always collaborated for the growth of Tamil Nadu.

BJP does not interfere in the affairs of AIADMK

Shah clarified that the BJP will take a call on whether it will join the government or not after the elections. The AIADMK has not made any demand and the BJP has no say in their internal matters. This alliance is beneficial to both the parties and we will contest the elections together," he added. Currently, the NDA's primary objective is to oust the corrupt DMK government in the state.

DMK is attempting to shift the focus away from problems

Making a blistering attack on the DMK, Shah stated that the DMK was intentionally bringing up matters such as Sanatan Dharma and language in the attempt to shift the focus of the people away from genuine problems. He stated that the most critical problem in the Tamil Nadu elections would be corruption, and that the people would opt for development and transparency this time around. Remembering the earlier alliance during Atal Bihari Vajpayee's and Jayalalithaa's times, he stated BJP and AIADMK together won very big successes in the past. He remained optimistic that even this time, people will award a majority to the NDA.

The Tamil Nadu people will never forgive

BJP chief Amit Shah on Saturday charged the DMK government with corruption in the next Tamil Nadu Assembly polls. Shah stated that the MK Stalin government has till now made scams amounting to approximately Rs 39,000 crore, such as the liquor scam and the MNREGA scam. We will bring the scams of the DMK government to light. People of Tamil Nadu will never forgive Stalin and Udhayanidhi for corruption," he added.
