BJP accuses AAP amid school bomb threat investigation; Sanjay Singh fires back

Sanjay Singh, countering BJP’s claims, criticized the timing of the allegations. “The first threat email was sent in May 2024. After nine months of inaction, BJP suddenly has all the answers just before elections. This is nothing but an attempt to politicize the issue of children’s safety."

The BJP intensified its criticism of the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) on Tuesday after Delhi Police revealed findings from their investigation into bomb threats sent to schools in the capital. According to police, the threats were traced to a juvenile whose parent is allegedly connected to an NGO with ties to a political party.

However, AAP dismissed the allegations as baseless and politically motivated, accusing the BJP of creating a narrative just 15 days before the Delhi elections. AAP leader Sanjay Singh called the claims "fabricated stories" designed to influence voters.

BJP raises serious allegations

Addressing the media, BJP spokesperson Sudhanshu Trivedi alleged that the juvenile's actions were not independent but influenced by their parents and the NGO. “The juvenile’s family is linked to NGOs that have previously opposed Afzal Guru’s execution. Is the child acting independently, or is there a larger conspiracy to destabilize Delhi’s law and order for political gains?” Trivedi questioned.

He further accused AAP of having connections with anti-national elements. “AAP’s ties with organizations involved in the Afzal Guru controversy and other anti-national activities raise serious concerns. The slogans of ‘Tukde-Tukde’ were heard in February 2015, coinciding with Afzal Guru’s death anniversary. Are these connections coincidental?” Trivedi asked, urging AAP chief Arvind Kejriwal to clarify his party’s position.

AAP denies allegations, blames BJP for politicization

Sanjay Singh, countering BJP’s claims, criticized the timing of the allegations. “The first threat email was sent in May 2024. After nine months of inaction, BJP suddenly has all the answers just before elections. This is nothing but an attempt to politicize the issue of children’s safety,” Singh stated.

Delhi Police Special CP (Law & Order) Madhup Tiwari disclosed that schools had been receiving bomb threat emails since February 14. Investigators traced the emails to a juvenile who used VPNs to mask their identity. During profiling, police discovered that one of the juvenile’s parents was linked to an NGO associated with a political party that had questioned the legitimacy of Afzal Guru’s hanging.

The probe remains ongoing, but with Delhi’s elections scheduled for February 5, the allegations have sparked a heated political debate.
