Bihar News: In a disturbing case that highlights severe familial abuse, authorities in Patna, Bihar, have arrested five individuals, including a stepmother, accused of forcing her minor stepdaughter into prostitution. The situation escalated when the young girl, who was gang-raped, was taken to a hospital, where medical staff reported suspicious injuries, prompting police intervention.

Police investigation uncovers a grievous truth

The investigation began after doctors at a local hospital noticed injuries on the minor, which raised concerns of abuse. Police quickly responded to the incident, revealing a horrific tale of exploitation. The victim, a resident of Shastri Nagar, told officers that her stepmother routinely sent her to various homes for domestic work, only to subject her to sexual exploitation. The gang rape reportedly occurred at Patliputra Heritage Apartment in the Rajiv Nagar area of Patna.

Stepmother's role in the trafficking scheme

Central SP Sweety Sehrawat stated that the victim disclosed to the police that her stepmother had coerced her into prostitution multiple times. Driven by financial gain, the stepmother facilitated meetings with men, arranging for the minor to engage in exploitative encounters. This particular incident involved her being taken to the apartment by the stepmother in collusion with several accomplices.

Exploitation and gang rape incident detailed

According to reports, the stepmother contacted a woman named Aarti, who was in a live-in relationship with a man named Sonu. Together, they arranged for the minor to visit Patliputra Heritage Apartment, where Arpit, a resident of the flat, and another individual, Sanjeev Kumar, were also present. The victim was subjected to severe abuse during this encounter, leading to serious injuries that necessitated medical attention.

Five suspects arrested as investigation continues

The police have arrested all five suspects involved in the crime, including the victim's stepmother, Aarti, Arpit, Sonu, and Sanjeev. They are currently undergoing interrogation to uncover the full extent of the trafficking operation. Authorities collected crucial forensic evidence, including blood samples and items from the victim's clothing, to strengthen their case. The minor, originally from Motihari, had been living with her stepmother in Patna after her father moved to the city for work.
