New Delhi: A harrowing incident has come to light from Bihar's Katihar district where a school principal has been arrested following a violent attack on a fifth-grade student. The shocking case unfolded over a ₹200 note, leading to an appalling series of events that culminated in the student's death. On September 5, Teacher’s Day, Principal Kamal Kumar Nirala reportedly handed a ₹200 note to the student and instructed him to purchase items from a nearby shop. When the student lost the note, he informed the principal, who responded with severe violence. The principal not only beat the student but also filed a complaint against him with his family.
Despite the family’s efforts to settle the issue by reimbursing the ₹200, the principal’s anger was far from placated. On September 6, he subjected the student to further assault, culminating in strangulation with a rope. As the child lay unconscious, the principal, along with an accomplice student, hung the victim from a ceiling fan in the classroom to stage the incident as a suicide.
Upon discovering the gruesome scene, the victim’s family immediately informed the police. They reported that the principal was responsible for the child’s death, not suicide. The authorities swiftly arrested Principal Nirala and the accomplice student after a thorough investigation. During questioning, Nirala confessed to the crime and revealed the involvement of the other student.
The police are currently investigating the case, focusing on the circumstances surrounding the principal's violent actions and the subsequent cover-up attempt. The shocking nature of this incident has drawn widespread condemnation and highlights a grave abuse of power within the educational system.
