Bihar News: In a chilling incident from Pothiya, Katihar district of Bihar, a young bride named Roshni was shot dead just 10 days after her marriage. Roshni, 23, was sitting outside her home when two masked criminals on a bike approached and fatally shot her. Despite being rushed to Katihar Medical College, she succumbed to her injuries during treatment.

Roshni had recently married Kartik Mandal, an employee in the Bihar Police. Allegations have emerged that her mother-in-law, Kiran Devi, orchestrated the attack due to dissatisfaction with the marriage and a dowry dispute. The newlyweds were in love for over a year before their marriage, but the situation took a grim turn when Roshni’s mother-in-law demanded five lakh rupees as dowry. According to reports, Kiran Devi was furious that she had not received any dowry and had allegedly threatened to have Roshni killed.
