Bihar News: A heinous crime has rocked the region of West Champaran, Bihar, where a seven-year-old girl was brutally raped by her father’s friend. The chilling incident occurred on Sunday evening in Bhiknathori, a village within the Sahodra police station area. The local community acted quickly, apprehending the accused and his accomplice before handing them over to the authorities. The young victim, who had fainted due to the assault, was rushed to Bettiah Medical College Hospital, where medical staff confirmed the rape.

How the Crime Unfolded

According to the victim's grandmother, the girl’s father, accompanied by his friends Omprakash Baitha (27), Umesh Paswan, and Satyendra Kumar, took an e-rickshaw to the Satwariya Dangal fair. The two daughters, including the seven-year-old, also traveled with their father. After the fair, Omprakash led the group to Bhiknathori for a picnic. While the children remained in the rickshaw, the men ventured towards Nepal to drink alcohol.

In a disturbing turn of events, Omprakash encouraged the girl's father to drink excessively, rendering him unconscious. Taking advantage of the situation, Omprakash lured the seven-year-old girl away from the group, sexually assaulting her. When the girl screamed in pain, locals rushed to the scene and caught the perpetrator, along with Satyendra. The villagers beat the accused and immediately alerted the Border Security Force (SSB) and the police.

Police Action and Medical Reports

The authorities responded quickly, with the Sahodra police arriving at the scene and taking the injured girl, her father, and the accused into custody. The victim was initially treated at Gaunaha Referral Hospital and later transferred to GMCH Bettiah due to her critical condition. Doctors confirmed that she had been raped and is currently receiving medical attention under the watch of her grandmother and the police.

In an update from Rajiv Ranjan Kumar, the station in-charge of Sahodra police, the police are waiting for the girl's health to improve before proceeding with the formalities. He stated, “We are awaiting the girl’s recovery. Once the family submits an official complaint, an FIR will be filed, and we will proceed with the investigation.” Omprakash Baitha and Satyendra Kumar are currently in police custody. The police are continuing their investigation into the incident. The victim’s family has not yet filed an official complaint, but the authorities are poised to take further legal action as soon as they receive the application.
