Bihar News: A shocking case of sexual assault has come to light in Patna, Bihar, where a 17-year-old girl was repeatedly raped by a man who had promised to marry her. The accused, identified as Prashant Kumar, a resident of Bahadurpur Housing Colony, took advantage of the victims trust, leading her to multiple hotels under the guise of a romantic relationship.The assault began after the two met in a gym and struck up a friendship. As their relationship developed, Prashant promised to marry the teenager, a promise that would later turn into a trap. According to the victims testimony, Prashant coerced her into drinking alcohol and raped her multiple times.Pregnancy and Forced AbortionThe victims nightmare continued when she discovered that she had become pregnant as a result of the repeated assaults. In a further display of manipulation and control, Prashant forced her to undergo an abortion on March 6, 2024. The young girl, who had been manipulated into silence, finally found the courage to confront Prashant and demand that he fulfill his promise of marriage.However, her efforts to seek a resolution were met with violence. On October 1, 2024, when she pressured him about their future, Prashant, intoxicated, physically assaulted her. This assault pushed the victim to take action, leading her to file a formal case against him under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act on November 16, 2024.Accused on the RunFollowing the registration of the case, Prashant Kumar went underground, evading authorities. The Patrakar Nagar police have launched a manhunt to apprehend him, with the police station in charge confirming their efforts to locate the accused.The local police have urged the public to come forward with any information that might lead to his capture.
