A harrowing incident of gang rape has emerged from Bettiah in Bihars West Champaran district, under the Manuapul police station area. A 19-year-old girl was brutally assaulted by four men on Tuesday evening while she was spending time with her male friend in a secluded spot. All four accused have been arrested by the police following swift action.According to Sub-Divisional Police Officer (SDPO) Vivek Kumar, the victim and her friend were sitting together in a deserted area near Vaishnavi Colony when four men approached them. The assailants viciously attacked the male companion before turning their attention to the girl. In a heinous act of violence, the four men gang-raped her.Upon receiving information about the crime, the Manuapul police station chief arrived at the scene and ensured the victim was rushed to Bettiahs GMCH hospital for medical treatment. The girls condition is reported to be stable and out of danger.Police response and arrestsThe victims statement was recorded by the female station officer, and under the directive of Bettiah Superintendent of Police (SP) Shaurya Suman, a special police team was formed to investigate the case. Acting promptly, the team apprehended all four suspects involved in the crime.
