Bihar: Five-year-old carries gun to school, opens fire at schoolmate

The authorities are interrogating the school staff and how a student studying in class nursery got hold of the firearm at a private school in the Lalpatti area.

A horrific incident has been reported from Bihar’s Supaul where a five-year-old student carried a handgun in the school bag and accidentally opened fire on one of the schoolmates studying in class 3. According to the reports, the incident happened on Wednesday. 

During the investigation, it was found that a student aged 10 years who studies in class 3 had sustained an injury.

According to the statement of the police official, soon after the incident, the injured boy was taken to the nearest hospital for treatment. Meanwhile, the officials are interrogating the school authorities about how a student studying in class nursery got hold of the firearm at a private school in the Lalpatti area.

The police officials have also instructed the school to carry out thorough checking of the school bags on a regular basis. The incident has also caused anxiety among students, parents and guardians. 

Meanwhile, the Supaul Police is interrogating the school authorities and reasons are being investigated.
