NEET-UG Exam: CBI reveals details of Hazaribagh paper leak

The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has disclosed findings from its investigation into the NEET-UG paper leak, identifying Pankaj Kumar as the 'mastermind.' According to the CBI, Kumar collaborated with Ehsanul Haque, the principal of Oasis School and NTA city coordinator, and Imtiaz Alam, the vice principal and centre superintendent, to access the question paper hours before the May 5 exam.

Orchestrated conspiracy

On the morning of May 5, the NEET-UG 2024 question papers were delivered to Oasis School in Hazaribagh and secured in a control room. Shortly after, Haque and Alam illicitly granted Pankaj Kumar access to this room. Kumar used sophisticated tools to open the trunks and obtain the question papers, which have since been confiscated by authorities.

How did they worked?

The leaked papers were solved by a group of MBBS students from AIIMS Patna, RIMS Ranchi, and a medical college in Bharatpur. These solved papers were then distributed to selected students who had paid for them. The CBI has arrested most of these 'solvers,' who were specifically brought to Hazaribagh as part of the conspiracy. Seven alleged solvers, all MBBS students from prestigious institutions, have been apprehended along with other members of Kumar's criminal network.
