New Delhi: A BPSC-selected teacher who had been reported missing from Kaimur has been located by the local police. Initially suspected to have been kidnapped, the case took an unexpected turn when the teacher was found in Banaras, revealing startling details about her disappearance.

On August 23, the family of the teacher, who was employed through the Bihar Public Service Commission (BPSC) and was living in Kudra on a rental basis, reported her missing. After a 24-hour search proved futile, the Kaimur police registered a case and launched an investigation. By August 25, authorities traced her last known location to Banaras, Uttar Pradesh. Surveillance footage revealed that she had been in contact with two men prior to her disappearance.

Shocking revelation

According to Mohania DSP Dilip Kumar, the teacher had a previous connection with an individual from the Lanka police station area of Banaras. When questioned, the teacher disclosed that her disappearance was driven by a complex personal situation. She had been involved with a previous lover, then started a relationship with another man, and later reconnected with the first. The second partner threatened to commit suicide if she left him, leading to her fear of potential consequences.

Feeling threatened, the teacher decided to leave and contemplate suicide herself. She abandoned her phone to prevent being tracked and ultimately ended up at her old residence in Banaras.

No kidnapping involved

DSP Kumar clarified that the case was not a kidnapping but rather a result of personal distress and blackmail. The police are now set to question the blackmailing lover as part of the ongoing investigation. The teacher, who had been missing for several days, was found safe but distressed.

The Kaimur police’s recovery of the teacher from Banaras underscores the importance of thorough investigations and the need to address personal issues that can escalate into more serious concerns.
