Maharashtra News: Prime Minister Narendra Modi, addressing a public gathering in Chimur, Maharashtra, launched a scathing attack on the Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA)—an opposition coalition consisting of Congress, NCP (Sharad Pawar faction), and Shiv Sena (Uddhav Thackeray faction). He referred to the alliance as the “biggest khiladi (player) in corruption” and accused it of derailing the state’s progress.
During his speech, PM Modi alleged that the MVA alliance had consistently obstructed development projects in Maharashtra. He said, “The people here have been demanding rail connectivity for decades, but Congress and the Aghadi parties never allowed it to happen. The rapid development of Maharashtra is beyond the reach of these Aghadi parties. They have specialized in halting progress and misleading people. Stopping, hindering, and misleading — these are the skills Congress excels at. Aghadi, in other words, is the biggest ‘khiladi’ in corruption.”
PM Modi accused Congress of attempting to divide the tribal community by introducing caste distinctions within the group. “The tribal population in our country is around 10%. Congress wants to divide the Adivasi community into castes and weaken them. If the Adivasi community gets divided into castes, it will lose its identity and strength,” he remarked, referencing Congress leader Rahul Gandhi’s promise of a caste census. He urged the tribal population to reject Congress’ “conspiracy” and remain united.
Highlighting his government’s repeal of Article 370, PM Modi blamed Congress and its allies for decades of violence and separatism in Jammu and Kashmir. “This region burned for decades due to separatism and terrorism. Article 370 was a legacy of Congress. Once we abolished it, we fully integrated Kashmir with India and its Constitution,” he asserted.
The Prime Minister also took aim at the Gandhi family, accusing them of believing they were born to rule. “After Independence, the Congress never allowed Dalits, backward classes, and Adivasis to progress. The Congress gets annoyed with the topic of reservations,” he said, citing past instances where Congress reportedly opposed affirmative action for marginalized groups.
PM Modi expressed optimism about the BJP-led coalition’s chances in the upcoming Maharashtra assembly elections. “The BJP-led Mahayuti will retain power in Maharashtra with a massive majority,” he declared. The elections are set to take place on November 20, with results to be announced on November 23.
